Submissions and info click here. All I ask is that you notify me when you fill your spots. That way I can keep this section fresh. We are currently conducting auditions/interviews for a bassist/vocalist. This is a new project geared toward pop and top 40 music for weddings, corporate parties, private parties and upscale restaurants and night clubs. A good candidate for this position will have previous experience performing in top 40 bands or show bands with adequate vocal ability to sing lead vocals and a well rounded knowledge of bass guitar theory. The band currently consists of drums, guitar and keyboards with each musician having 35+ years performing experience and would prefer someone 40-45 years or older. You will be expected to rehearse once a week in Southside Hampton Roads northern Suffolk area until the band is ready to perform and be available to perform weekends as bookings require. Travel will not extend farther than after work Friday until Sunday evening will allow. We have all the sound equipment, lighting, bookings and rehearsal space covered. All we need is you, your bass rig, (please have your own transportation), you vocal ability and a desire to make a nicely lucrative part time income. For further information or to schedule an audition/interview, please contact Billy Etheridge at (757) 484-1887 or respond by e-mail to gldy8r@verizon.net |

Vocalist Available
I am looking to find an already established
cover / original band to sing in. I am 31 years
old and have 20 years experience playing live.
You won't find the typical front man ego here.
I have a huge range of influences and a great
vocal range from anything like 3 Doors Down to
Slipknot. Let's get the crowd involved and have
a good time.

Solid
Ground has an opening! We are a gigging band
currently looking for very experienced lead
guitarist that has an open mind and loves to
play. We mostly play Top 40 Rock, 80's, 90's and
current Rock locally around Virginia Beach.
Cole (singer/rhythm guitarist) and Pat (drummer)
are currently on an overseas tour and expect to
return in October, ready to
start scheduling shows. Greg (Bass player) is
in the area to see if you have what it takes to
be part of "Solid Ground". Feel free to check
our current web site for more details about SOLID
GROUND.

I'm based in Portsmouth and looking for a
part-time situation with a working band, or one
close to getting out in front
of people. I'm in my late forties and have been
playing bass for longer than I can remember. I'm
comfortable with
classic and modern rock, funk, jazz, and
country, and would prefer a "variety" situation
rather than getting stuck in
just one style of music. My equipment list
includes Carvin (fretted and fretless basses,)
SWR, and Boss, and I have
transportation. My vocal range covers about
three octaves and change. I'm also familiar with
keyboards, drums, and
percussion, for what that's worth.
I can be reached at m_kazalski@hotmail.com or by
calling (757) 560-6664. I do have a day job, so
calling me about
gigging would work better in the evenings.

I am interested in having local
singer/songwriter Amy Gerhartz added to your
local musicians list. You can also listen to
her music at

Thank you for your help!
Fully Vested band looking for lead guitar
with vocals replacement for current guitar
player who is leaving in three weeks (last
gig 24 Apr 05). See
www.freewebs.com/fullyvested
for venues, song list, video, audio etc.
Contact Lenny 757-319-3148 or email knoxl@cox.net.
We're Virginia Beach based.
Drummer
Available - Drummer of the former band "Fully
Vested" seeks working band in the
Hampton Roads area. Likes are from country
to modern rock (no scream-o, metal-o or
rap-o). I'd be able to learn your 40 - 45
songs (if I don't already know them), in two
weeks or less. Top of the line Pearl/Audix/Paiste
gear. Rock solid back beat. As steady as
they come. Sound/video bytes and current
song list can be heard, seen or read at
www.freewebs.com/fullyvested
or contact me and I'll send you a promo
package. I'm used to playing 8 - 12 gigs per
month. Dedication is not an issue. I do my
homework. Once a set list is complete, I
believe in adding 2 songs per practice per
week. Priorities are: (1) playing a solid,
tight and professional gig. (2) Fun. (3)
Money.

I
recently moved to Newport News and am in search of a
band to play with. I left behind (in Bloomington,
Indiana) a band which I was one of two front-men
with for about 10 years (lead/harmony/backup vocals,
hand drums/percussion, banjo, and some keyboard).
My vocal range is on the low end, very resonant,
sometimes a bit gravelly and always from the heart.
We were called Zion Crossroads and usually defined
our genre as Dreadneck Revival because we didn’t
quite fit in any other. We performed many originals
while also covering the likes of Leadbelly, Woody
Guthrie, Uncle Dave Macon, Rev. Gary Davis, Freddie
King, Toots & The Maytalls, Creedence Clearwater
Revival, Waylon Jennings, Elvis Presley, Willie
Dixon, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Band, Neil
Young, Roy Orbison, The Grateful Dead, and many
other Blues, Folk, Classic Rock, Reggae, Traditional
and Spiritual. We opened for such artists as Toots
& The Maytalls, Culture, and Burning Spear. All of
the songs we played were designed to either send a
positive message or get the girls on the dance floor
(often both at the same time) and were all played
something like a modern 70’s rock band.
This is my background but I am open to new ideas. I
am available for practice once or twice a week and
to perform as often as possible. I have a few live
demos that I can send via computer and would be glad
to get together with any interested bands just to
see if it works. Pictures can be found at http://otterfest.com/zion/zion_pics.shtml.
I’m the guy with the banjo. My name is Johnie
Sanders and I can be contacted at johniesanders@netscape.net
or (757) 327-0915 or (812) 325-0554.
my
name is Barb....i am currently involved in a full time
working band here in the Jacksonville, Fl. area and will
be moving to the Norfolk area within 6 months or so. i
sing leads & backups...everything from Etta James to
Janis Joplin to Sheryl Crow to reggae. i play
instruments as well....mostly acoustic guitar...but do
play electric on the harder rock songs such as ACDC, Pat
Benetar, Jefferson Airplane, etc. I play a mean blues
harp and some keyboards too. i hold my own, have done
many solo gigs here and formed my current band GO ASK
ALICE about 5 years ago. I've been playing full time or
otherwise in other bands for over 20 years as well. I am
a booking fool, always working (need to eat!) and
average 3 gigs a week. My husband has already moved up
there...so the sooner i get something going your way the
better. I am just so established here that i couldn't
give it all up and move without some notice to my guys
and something to get involved in up there first. check
out my website,
www.goaskalicerocks.com
if you
would like to learn more about what i do.
I am looking
to get my name out to more clubs/ venues as a mobile live sound
engineer, a.k.a., a "sound guy". Most of the shows I've done
were at club Excess at 21st and Atlantic in Va Beach. This
includes their 2003 battle of the bands, as well as shows for
several touring acts including performers such as Afroman. I
charge $150/ night and provide sound quality far beyond what
most local sound guys provide; (which is why my band and I
invested in our own gear in the first place). I only require 24
hours notice for events, unless setup/ sound check for some
reason during the day, in which case I would need a few days
notice.

A brief list of my equipment:
Pair of JBL SF25 FR speakers for High end F.O.H. powered by QSC RMX 1450 | Behringer single 18" subs for Low end F.O.H. powered by QSC RMX 1450 | Monitors (usually enough for most small staged local venues, only until an upgrade can be afforded) Pair of Peavey single 8" w/ horn powered by a 65 watt Peavey amp. | 32 channel/ 8 bus Behringer MX3282 Mixing Console | Mostly Shure mics for guitar/ vocals and Audix Fusion Drum Mic kit. | All stands and cables | ART Crossover, Stanton Dual CD Players w/ Gemini Mixer (for music b4 and between bands)
I do not have a snake yet, for the same reason I don't have monitors so my mixer must be located near the stage. I know that's a pain, but I get the job done and it's only until I can afford the upgrades I want.
I'm a mature
guitarist and songwriter who has a Sax playing music partner who are
looking for others to have serious jam sessions and potentially form
a group. There are no genre's untouched with special attention given
to funk, alt country, quirky alternative or jam band and some Latin.
We prefer minimalist drummers with terrific tone and color and can
paint an expressive picture with a basic kit and Bass players who
are deep in the pocket and not flashy, just build and support the
groove and the songs with serious backbone, then be able to solo
with a melodic voice. We prefer the peninsula but if you don't mind
coming over it's great. But don't let a little water discourage you
if you're interested!
Cheers
